The newest member of TheHuntBlog contributing team Mike Blackburn is showing signs of great potential. It didn’t take him long as you see from the photo below. The “Smallies” were caught on his first trip out at our family cottage in Huntsville, Ontario. They’re not wall hangers but enough to get this young golf pro out of Saugeen Shores GC “hooked” on fishing!
Although he is a bit of a rookie only just taking up fishing seriously this past summer he has scored some excellent early success. Mike becomes an official member of the Mather family this September and quickly came to realize that he was going to have to learn to fish or get left at the dock! Although as the picture below shows…the dock fishing is good too!
But Mike didn’t stop there. The August long weekend saw him “hook-up” with his good friend Ryan Amyot on his boat in Georgian Bay out of Owen Sound. On that trip out (only his second!) he hooked into and landed a really nice Chinook Salmon pushing 14lbs.
Looks like Mike is well on his way to becoming a great fishing partner for his wife to be Melissa!
Congrats on both accounts from TheHuntBlog Prostaff Team!
